FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need therapy or consultation?
Therapy is recommended if you are seeking to explore concerns related to your mother-daughter relationship and overcome personal life stressors. Consultation is recommended if you are seeking guidance in a specific area while navigating your parenting journey.
Will there be an intake session? What should I expect?
Yes, The first session that you have will be your intake session. During intake, we will discuss personal strengths, concerns, goals, history, and explore therapy expectations. This will establish how we move forward in therapy.
Parent consultations do not require an intake session. Because consultation sessions are used to address your very specific concerns as it relates to parenting journey, each session will be used to discuss those concerns and gain actionable guidance to achieve a desired and attainable goal.
Does what we talk about in therapy or consultation remain confidential?
Yes, therapy and consultation sessions remain confidential. We abide by HIPAA rules and regulations. There are limits to confidentiality such as immediate danger to self, duty to warn (threat to harm others), and abuse or neglect of a child or elder.
